My story
After two C-sections left me with an unflattering belly, I couldn’t find a dress that fit both my changing body and my style.
I missed the stretchy, body-hugging dresses I used to wear - a one-piece that I could slip on, wear all day, and that moved with me from one activity to the next.
But that dress didn’t seem to exist for my new body.
After two decades of wearing only pants and shirts, I decided to create the dress I couldn’t find.
I started with the fabric: I sourced a superb quality, 4-way stretch fabric that's durable and easy to care for. But Stretchy fabric with a body- hugging fit can often be unflattering, especially around the belly and underarms, so I focused on developing a cut that wouldn’t overstretch in those areas.
After testing many prototypes on my self and my girlfriends (all with different body shapes), I finally achieved the perfect fit.
a-dress was born. This dress wasn’t just for me, it was for all of us.
